About us

Our response to COVID-19

The team here at Advent Advocacy know how unsettling this time is and how destabilising it has been for many. We want to offer our support wherever we can and have been working hard to ensure this happens for all. Whether you are in a hospital, residential, educational, or workplace setting we will be there for you.

The safety of the people we advocate for and of our team is paramount to us. Our staff are working safely from their homes to ensure that we still provide you with the advocacy service you need. We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation daily and where it is safe to do so some face to face visits may continue.

It is important to us that we stay connected to the people we advocate for and we have successfully rolled out our remote service nationally to ensure this happens. The fact that we have operated this alongside our standard face to face service for a number of years has allowed for a smooth transition from our usual face to face service to a remote one.

This includes support offered through the following platforms:

• Telephone
• Email
• Skype
• Microsoft Teams
• Zoom

For new enquiries please call us on 01325 776 554 and we’ll be happy to see how we can help you. If you are currently receiving support from us and have any questions please contact your existing advocate who will ensure you are supported.

Please know we are still here for you. We see you and we hear you, just in a different way for now.

Stay safe and take care,

The Advent Advocacy Team

I’d be lying if I said that anyone with a chronic mental health condition can be totally ‘cured’. But through hard work, determination, and hope, you can create your own toolbox, which will help you manage and enjoy life’s pleasures. I’ve come a long way since my first bout of mental ill health. The small steps that I’ve taken means that I am now at a place where the good days definitely outweigh the bad. I still have bad days, but now I know what to do and how to get myself out of them. It takes time to build your toolbox of self-management, but when you experience moments of pure happiness it makes you proud that you fought the battle.
